Place this molding on the base of your piece of furniture. The effect is to soften the transition between the base and the verticals of the cabinet. For even greater effect plant a small molding on the flat upright face.

This line of 17th Century profiles evolved from the classical Greek and Roman shapes as used by famous architects and designers. During this period, country furniture remained the mainstay of English traditional style in the provinces, but then designers started to incorporate these new shapes in with their more traditional moldings, and together they remained in use over the next century or more. Jesada Tools has researched the worldwide passion for furniture of this period and through discussions with top furniture restorers in the UK have come up with this unique line of router bits. The moldings of the 17th century were of course originally created by hand using scratch stocks or molding planes but now they can be created using the router. The profiles of the bits are loyal to the moldings found on traditional furniture and will enable not only restorers but also reproducers of furniture to make authentic moldings to adorn their fine pieces of workmanship.
